Anna Salton Eisen’s mother, Ruth Salton, was a witness to the Nazi invasion of Warsaw in September 1939. Through the heroic efforts of Irena Sendler, a Polish social worker, several thousand Jewish children in Warsaw were hidden and saved during the Holocaust. After liberation, Ruth Salton returned to Poland to gather these hidden Jewish orphans. The below 20-minute presentation is designed for middle and high school students.
